Blue screens, bungled releases, stealthy .NET upgrades, CRM blocks and complex manual fixes. October is shaping up to be one heck of a patch-encumbered month.Credit: Thinkstock Wersquo;re sitting at PT+2 mdash;two days after Patch Tuesday mdash;and the problems con stanley cana (https://www.stanleycup.ro) tinue to roll in. Here are the latest mug shots in a rapidly devolving roguersquo gallery. If yoursquo;ve been following along, you know about the initial problems I reported on Tuesdaymdash; the Word zero-day, TPM patches that donrsquo;t patch, known and acknowledged bugs in Windows patches. You saw the late bloomers I reported on Wednesdaymdash; delayed, failed and rolled back Windows patches, a non-existent Flash update, confusingly no .NET security patches, an incorrect description of the CVE-2017-11776 fix, and more TPM follies. You ainrsquo;t seen the half of it yet. Delta Updates and Cumulative UpdatesOn Tuesday afternoon, @mobartz reported on AskWoody:For the first time, Irsquo;m seeing Delta Updates for Win 10 1607 and 1703 along with the regular Cumulative Updates. Researchers have successfully transmitted brain waves from an owl monkey over the Internet to move a robot arm 600 miles away. Earlier this year, brain signals from an owl monkey in a North Carolina laboratory were transmitted over the Internet to Massachusetts, where the impulses were used to manipulate a robot arm. That long reach by one small primate, the resu stanley tumbler (https://www.stanley-usa.us) lt of work done by a collaboration of neurobiologists and computer scientists, may signal dramatic possibilities for the human/ machine interfa stanley cup (https://www.stanley-cup.pl) ce.One primary goal of Miguel Nicolelis, an associate pro polene borse (https://www.polene-italy.it) fessor of neurobiology at Duke University; Mandayam Srinivasan, director of the Laboratory for Human and Machine Haptics at MIT; John Chapin, a researcher at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn; and their teams is to develop technology that will enable people to control prosthetic devices with their minds and the aid of some computational device. Their work may also have wider application, giving embedded processing an entirely new meaning. It was an amazing sight to see the robot in my lab move, knowing that it was being driven by signals from a monkey brain at Duke, said Srinivasan. It was as if the monkey had a 600-mile-long virtual arm.In the experiment, electrical signals were picked up by arrays of as many as 96 tiny electrodes implanted in the cerebral cortexes of the two monkeys. The signals were processed to find signatures representing the initiatio
