I’m trying to understand how the tax number Ontario system works and was hoping someone here could clarify a few things. If someone is starting a small business or freelancing in Ontario, do they need to apply for a specific tax number right away, or is it automatically assigned when registering the business? I’ve also heard about HST numbers and Business Numbers, but I’m not sure how they relate to a tax number in Ontario. If anyone has gone through this process or knows the steps to obtain or verify a
