The founding dean of UNLV medical school will be on the job for at least another year.Barbara Atkinson has signed a one-year contract that will become effective July 1, with future renewals possible, just after her former contract ends June 30. Medical school faculty learned the news Monday, but Atkinson was publicly congratulated during a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the UNLV Foundation on Wednesday morning.
