A certain slight air of awkwardness hangs over any reunion, the result of selves suspended between yesterday and today, between who we were and who we 146;ve become. No matter how much we enjoy catching up on families and jobs, on lives lived in the present, at reunions we are, at some level, ghosts talking to ghosts. We look around and see the people we once knew 151 ome very well 151;and realize we are at that moment just as much looking forward from the time we shared in the past as we are looking back from today.I went to a reunion, this past weekend, of people who had covered and helped to cover the Vietnam War for CBS News. The occasion was the 25-year anniversary of the fall of Saigon. It was good to see some faces I hadn 146;t seen in years, absolutely, and good to once again feel the camaraderie that wil stanley cup l always lie between those of us who knew such  stanley becher strange and dangerous times in such a faraway place.  Last night, two F-16 fighter jets collided during a training mission off the coast of Chincoteague, Virginia. One pilot had to eject into the sea at about 10:30PM. Here   the captivating raw footage the Coast Guard pulling him out of the water to safety.      The downed pilot was retrieved by a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk. There   no sound, but if you ;re really interested in what a Jayhawk sounds like at close range in windy conditions, crank this video to 11. The other  termo stanley pilot involved was able to fly his F-16 safely back to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. All four planes involved in the training mission stayed in radio contact, with, I ;d imagine, plenty of 100% justified grumbling on the part of the pilot-turned-pool-buoy. While the D.C. Air National Guard is now short one $18.8 million F-16, both pilots involved  in the flying fender bender are said stanley mugs  to be in good condition.
