are all the rage in superhero movies nowadays, but they can be a tough idea for non-nerds to wrap their heads around. Non-nerds like, say, Michael Shannon, who played the Superman villain General Zod in 2013   Man of Steel. So when Warner Bros. asked him to reprise his role in The Flash movie, his response was鈥攁nd Im paraphrasing here鈥?Huh   The problem, as Shannon saw it, was that he was reasonably confident Zod died in Man of Steel.  For the record, he is correct, the character having had his neck snapped by Sup stanley drinking cup erman. stanley cup usa    I was a little confused,  Shannon told Looper in a recent interview.  I said, As memory serv stanley mugs es me, I think I died in Man of Steel. Are they sure they got the right guy  But then they explained to me the whole multiverse phenomenon, which I was a little behind the times on that. I cant say that Im a huge consumer of this genre of films鈥攏ot that I have anything against them. If Im going to watch a movie, the odds are its not going to be one of those, but I sure love making them.      A reasonable and very diplomatic answer! Shannon also explained that this Zod is a little different than the Zod he played previously:  Hes a little different in this film. Hes a little more鈥?I dont know how to put it. You dont spend as much time with him, so you dont really get to know as much about what hes thinking. Its not necessarily his movie. Thats the thing with these multiverse movies鈥攜ou get a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  Another reasonable answer!  From time to time, Gumball will take narrative detours whose sole purpose is to reference something else from the world of animation that the artists behind the show are really into, like Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. In the shows most recent episode  The Spinoffs,  Rob the evil cyclops muses abo stanley mug ut television show heroes who could potentially replace the missing Gumball. In addition to a robot from a cooking show and a frightened banana from an after-school special, Rob briefly considers the star of Barcode Cowboy, a spoof of Cowboy Bebop  which, youll recall, is slated to get a live-action, American reboot.      The title sequence, styled after Cowboy Bebops, is simple amazing.  Given that Gumball creator Ben Bocquelet is slat stanley quencher ed to leave the show after the end of its sixth season, the entire premise of  The Spinoffs  could, in a way, be a nod to him. Though Boquelets leaving, hes said that Gumball isnt coming to an end quite yet, so theres a solid chance that therell be even more pitch-perfect anime tributes from it in the near future.                                                        Animationcartoon netwo starbucks stanley cup rk                                                                                                                                                                                                              Daily Newsletter                                                                                                                        You May Also Like
