Halton police have issued a warning about an alleged home repair scam believed to be operating in the region.During July, police said, individuals claiming to be contractors attended two homes in Burlington where they convinced the elderly residents to let them do some repair work.The suspects reportedly provided quotes with prices lower than market value, and then requested a large cash deposit. In each of the two incidents, police said, the residents handed this money over.
