 The Host director Bong Joon-ho this week started shooting Shaking Tokyo, starring Japanese actress Aoi Yu as his segment of the multinational Tokyo omnibus. Following in the steps of Paris Je T aime, the Tokyo project has three directors - Bong, Michel Gondry  Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind , and Leos Carax  Pola X  - each dire stanley website cting a short film set in the Japanese capital. The film in its entirety is co-produced by Korea s Sponge Entertainment, France s Comme des Cinemas, and Japan s Bitters stanley cup  End. Bong s segment is about a man who has lived for 10 years as a  hikikomori  - the term used in Japan for people unable to adjust to society and so never leave their homes - and what happens when he falls in love one day with a pizza delivery girl. Aoi Yu, best known for her performance in Hula Girls - Japan s submission to the 2007 Academy Awards foreign language film category - plays the pizza girl opposite Kagawa Teruyuki from Memories of Matsuko. Gondry starts shooting his segment Hiroko  Akira in Tokyo this October, and Carax starts shooting his entitled Merde this November.
