Almost had a heart attack when I saw the estimate. My 2017 Ghibli popped up a "suspension service required" message last week and the ride went super harsh, like the car forgot how to absorb bumps. Took it to the dealer and they said both front adaptive shocks are leaking and need replacement, plus something about a height sensor. Total came to just under 12,000 dirhams. I love the car but that's insane. I started looking online and found the Maserati shock absorber page
https://suspensionrepairdubai.ae/maserati-shock-absorber-replacement/ which seems to offer a more sensible option. Has anyone here used an independent shop for Maserati suspension work? Are there quality aftermarket options for these shocks or am I stuck with dealer parts? Also, is it safe to drive the car with the warning light on? The dealer said it's fine short term but the ride is so bad my wife refuses to get in the car. I'm thinking of getting a second opinion from a specialist that works on Italian cars. Does anyone know if the Ghibli shares suspension parts with any other cars like the Chrysler 300? I heard there's some parts sharing but I'm not sure if that applies to the adaptive shocks. Any advice on how to handle this without spending half the car's value would be amazing. Really stressed about this. Thanks in advance.
