PoE 2 Vorana, Last to Fall Boss Location and Fight Guide

In Path of Exile 2, Vorana, Last to Fall is one of the Expedition faction bosses tied to the Grand Expedition progression line. She is not just a simple map encounter, but a mechanics-heavy fight that combines navigation, preparation, and very tight positioning during combat. This guide breaks down where to find her and how to deal with her most dangerous mechanics in a clear, practical way.

Boss Location & How to Access Vorana

Vorana is encountered through the Expedition system, specifically within the reworked ocean exploration progression.

The process to reach her is not as straightforward as a normal map boss:

First, you progress through the Atlas Ocean system, which replaces older Expedition logbook routing with a more exploration-based structure tied to the ruins of Kingsmarch. Using a logbook allows you to reveal hidden islands across your Atlas ocean map.

Vorana will appear on one of these newly revealed islands. However, she does not spawn immediately in a standard map node—you must uncover her location through progression.

Once the island is available:

The entry requires a Tier 11 Waystone
If the Expedition icon or ocean route does not appear, running an additional nearby Waystone map usually forces the progression to update
After entering the map, you will encounter NPC Tujen

From there, you need to move through the area and use explosives strategically. Your goal is to open the path leading into Vorana’s Tomb, which acts as her dedicated boss arena.

Boss Fight Overview

Vorana, Last to Fall is a fast, aggressive melee-style boss that heavily punishes poor positioning. The fight is designed around constant movement inside a very small safe zone while avoiding overlapping area damage effects.

The key rule of the encounter is simple but strict: you must stay close to Vorana at all times.

The Most Important Mechanic: The Safe Zone

At the start of the fight, Vorana triggers a major arena-wide hazard known as the Black Reaping.

A dense black fog fills the entire outer arena
Standing in this fog rapidly stacks a deadly damage-over-time effect
The damage is so high it can kill most characters in under two seconds

The only safe area is a small circular zone directly around Vorana herself. This creates a constant “stick-to-the-boss” gameplay loop.

If you ever drift too far away, you will die almost instantly. That is the central mechanic of the entire fight.

Vorana’s Main Attacks

Even inside the safe zone, Vorana remains highly dangerous due to her fast melee kit.

Cyclone

Vorana spins continuously while lunging in a direction. She often announces this with a voice line like “Death Wind!”

The key is to move with her rotation instead of trying to outrun it. Staying inside her safe radius is more important than dodging perfectly.

Lacerate

She performs a wide scythe cross slash in front of her, covering a large semi-circle area.

This is signaled by a voice cue such as “I shall cut you down!”

The best counter is a quick side step or moving behind her immediately when you hear it.

Dash Slash

A sudden gap-closing attack used to reposition or punish movement mistakes.

This move is fast and less predictable, so staying alert is essential.

Orbiting Stars

Glowing orbs circle the edge of the arena and periodically fire projectiles inward.

If you run into one, it triggers a delayed explosion in an area of effect.

The safest approach is to maintain awareness even while focusing on Vorana, since the safe zone is also where most of these projectiles converge.

Ambush Phase (Transition Mechanic)

Vorana will occasionally disappear into the mist and become immune to damage.

During this phase:

She remains visible on the minimap
A wind-like indicator shows her re-entry point
She always returns to a predictable location in the arena

The goal is to reposition early and wait inside her safe zone so you can resume DPS immediately when she reappears.

Fight Strategy Summary

To consistently win the fight:

Stay glued to Vorana at all times
Never step into the outer fog under any circumstance
Dodge sideways for Lacerate instead of backing away
Follow her movement during Cyclone rather than escaping it
Track Orbiting Stars while maintaining safe-zone positioning
Pre-position during Ambush phases to avoid downtime

This is a fight where discipline matters more than raw damage.

Rewards

Defeating Vorana, Last to Fall rewards Uthred’s Logbook. This item is used to unlock further Expedition progression and reveal additional ocean islands in the Atlas system.

Returning it to Kingsmarch helps you progress toward higher-tier faction encounters and deeper Expedition content.
