MILWAUKEE 鈥?Art has the power to draw us in to experience a world we may not be familiar with in an intimate setting.The University of Milwaukee is highlighting the beauty and diverse lives of Native American women across the country including a few with Wisconsin ties. The exhibit Seeds of Culture: The Portraits and Voices of Native American Women is a labor of love for photographer Matika Wilbur, a member of the Swinomish and Tulalip tribal nations. MILWAUKEE 鈥?Milwaukee police said they are investigating after one man was killed and two were seriously injured overnight.The shooting
stanley cup happened around 2:20 a.m. in the 600 block of W. Cleveland Avenue. Officials said a 29-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene. A 30-year-old man and a 52-year-old man were also shot. Both were taken to the hospital where police say they are in critical condition. Witnesses inside of the bar, La Pasadita, shared that there was a private event happening Saturday night. They noticed the shooter, who was not invited to the event had entered inside. After they asked this person to leave, they say, shots were fired outside. Noticeable bullet holes could be seen on the building of the bar where police placed evidence markers.Locals that lived nearby woke up to the sound of the gunfire. I heard gunshots, it was like 7-8 gunshots like back to back there was no hesitation at all between the gunshots. Then there was like scared screaming.
