Jack Newfield, a muckraking reporter and newspaper columnist who wrote books on Robert F. Kennedy and boxing impresario Don King, has died. He was 66.Newfield died Monday after being hospitalized for kidney cancer that had spread to his lungs, said Howard Rubenstein, spokesman for the family.Newfield s career included stints at the Village Voice, the Daily News and the New York Post. He won numerous awards, incl stanley flasche uding the George Polk Award and an Emmy. Most recently, he was a columnist at the New York Sun. I think he invented a whole new form of journalism, a new form of personal investigative journalism that was rooted in a consuming ethic and a brilliant search for truth,  said Wayne Barrett, Newfield s co-author on the book  City for Sale: Ed Koch and the Betrayal of New York. A native of Brooklyn, Newfield was drawn to the civil r stanley mug ights movement after college, and his first book,  A Prophetic Minority,  was about his experiences in the South. He was arrested at a sit-in in 1963 and spent two days in jail with Michael Schwerner, one of three civil rights workers who were slain in Mississippi the following year.        After joining the Voice, Newfield  stanley mug traveled with Kennedy during his presidential campaign in 1968 and was present when he was assassinated in Los Angeles. His book  Robert Kennedy: A Memoir  came out the following year. Though it s really unknowable, I think that if Bobby had lived to be president, we would have ended the Vietnam War much sooner  and  renewed th Trrm Tyler Clementi targeted by Ravi, prosecution says
Late in the day on Tuesday, news emerged that Pandora had acquired an FM radio  stanley cup station in South Dakota for an undisclosed sum. Yes, you read that right. The world   largest internet radio station is getting into the terrestrial radio business, and it   not because Pandora   trying to build out its antique antenna collection. Either Pandora   trying to save money on licensing fees in order to improve its service, which is way the company says it   doing, or Pandora   staging some stanley cup  weird internet-meets-Earth publicity stunt, which is what it seems like the company is doing.     Pandora has been upfront  stanley becher about its stated intentions. The company   assistant general counsel, Christopher Harrison, explained the reasoning of buying the radio station on The Hill   Congress Blog. There   a whole lot about Pandora   present battle with folks like the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers  ASCAP  over licensing fees and a sly mention of how terrestrial radio stations are given preferential treatment thanks to an agreement from January 2012. You don ;t even have to read between the lines to figure out how Pandora   trying to game the system that   enabling competitors like Clear Channel   iHeartRadio to pay lower licensing fees. That makes good sense for Pandora. Why wouldn ;t the makers of the Music Genome Project want some sort of advantage in the increasingly crowded int

Statistically, fewer than one percent of all medical devices fail their patients - far fewer, in fact. Small comfort if one of those very rare failures strikes you or me  stanley mugs or someone you love. Our Cover Story is reported by Jim Axelrod:  Joshua Oukrop was 21 when he died seven years ago of a heart attack. Robert Hauser is not a relative; he was Joshua s cardiologist.  How often do you think of Joshua   Axelrod asked.  Every day,  Dr. Hauser replied.  He was young. It shouldn t have happened. It just shouldn t have happened.         The story of what happened to Joshua begins with the discovery as a teen that he d inherited a heart condition from his father, Lee.  He came home from band and his saxophone was dented in a little bit in a few spots,  Lee Ou vaso stanley krup said.  And he said,  I just passed out and fell forward.  So we knew something had to be done.  Josh s parents took him to see Dr. Hauser at Abbott Northwestern Hospital s Minneapolis Heart Institute. Hauser decided to implant a cardiac defibrillator - called an ICD - in Josh s chest.   When the heart becomes very chaotic, it shocks the heart back to normal,  Dr. Hauser said.             Although Lee Oukroup and his older son, Jacob, both had similar heart conditions, neither had shown signs of disease. So only Joshua had an ICD implanted.   He was a k stanley water bottle id, you know   He was a little reluctant to do it, but he knew it was for the best,  Lee said. Three years of routine tests and check-ups went by uneventfully. And then, in Mar Pofo Mom Jailed For Ditching Kids For Show
The process of throwing out garbage in New York City is much more complicated than any of the millions of people living there could ever realize. A mini-documentary by the New York Times does a full observation of the $300 million dollar service top to bottom.      As the second installment of a video series titled Living City, the NYT aims to cover all facets that make New York City life possible. This segment dive into how the department of sanitation does the very dirty job of handling the trash and recyclables. New York has been constantly looking to improve its methods of disposing the waste, through building new facilities in Sunset Park and using greener, floating forms of transportation across the Hudson. Even New York   newest neighborhood, Hudson Yards, is built to circumvent trash bags on the streets for  stanley cup a much more modern and futuristic system. https://gizmodo/a-tour-of-the-largest-commingled-recycling-plant-in-the-1493137288 T stanley cup he video focuses in on the DoS   biggest new threat: Organic waste. Averaging at about a third of our daily garbage, the organic waste in NYC could be better put to use as compost instead of going out to landfills where they end up creating poisonous gas. Some neighborhoods of the city are already starting to employ methods of separating the organic matter to make it easier for farms outside the urban area to start the compost process. Of course, the overall message once again is that the e cups stanley ffort to educate the masses is paramount
