Dir: Katja Von Garnier. UK-Ger-Rom-US. 2007. 98mins. Blood And Chocolate is a werewolf love story with no bite and not much romance. Based on the popula stanley cup r American teen novel by British-born author Annette Curtis Klause, the Lakeshore Entertainment production may find an initial audience in the younger female demographic that has kept the book in demand for almost a decade. But with little to offer in the way of star power, special effects, sex or gore, this surprisingly tame fantasy thriller will have a hard time scaring up a wider crowd. With MGM dist stanley cup ributing, the film got a 1,200-print release - with a PG-13 rating - in the crowded North American marketplace this weekend. Ads note that the project comes  from the producers of Underworld  but the eventual domestic take seems likely to fall well short of the $52m achieved by Lakeshore s much raunchier vampires-vs-werewolves saga. Prospects may not be much better in international markets, where independent distributors will start releasing in February. The film s multi-national cast and crew and European locations might, however, create a little extra interest. In the radically reshaped movie version of the book, scripted by Ehren Kruger  The Ring  and Christopher Lando stanley cup n  Ice Cold In Alex , Vivian  Bruckner  is an American-born werewolf - or  loup garoux , as the film likes to call them-- living in Bucharest. By day she works in a chocolate shop and by night she hangs out, rather reluctantly, with the other members of her clan Mdbb Restored Wang movie to kick off VC Film Festival in LA
Dir: Mennan Yapo. US. 2007. 97mins. Unconvincingly folding together domestic drama with time-bending suspense and personal-stakes analytical thrills, Premonition represents Sandra Bullock s worst stanley cup  starring vehicle in a decade. Spare in design, detail and cogent thought, the film is a mock investigative thriller which unfolds over the course of one jumbled week and ultimately collapses under its own accumualted weight. Passingly remini stanley italy scent of Gothika, but also two little-seen indies, Passion Of Mind and Danika, Premonition may stake out a halfwa stanley canada y decent opening in the US this weekend courtesy of Bullock s name recognition and star power. Still, dark fare has never been her forte, as witnessed by the $32m domestic take of Murder By Numbers - and Premonition lacks the sort of co-stars or big, easily explicable hook that would help the film cast a wide commercial net. Lethal word-of-mouth will quickly further dent theatrical take, resigning it to a deserved lifetime as an anonymous pay cable earner. There s little to suggest international audiences will have a markedly different take on the movie. The story centres on Linda Hanson  Bullock , a woman who enjoys a beautiful house and has two adorable daughters cast in her likeness. One day she receives word that her husband Jim  McMahon  has died in a highway auto accident. When Linda wakes up the following morning, though, Jim is very much alive. At first, Linda believes the accident must have just been a nightmare. Then it happen
