 Two American tech giants are reportedly facing n stanley thermos ew regulatory challenges in Europe.One case involves聽Apples聽App Store, while the other centers on聽Metas artificial intelligence  AI  assistant,聽Meta AI.The Financial Times  FT 聽reported Friday  June 14  that the聽European Commision  EC  will bring charges against Apple after determining that the company is not complying with a requirement that it allow聽app developers to direct users to offers available outside Apples App Store without charging them fees. The FT report cited unnamed sources.If the charges are in fact brought against Apple, it could be the first time the EC has done so under the recently implemented聽Digital Markets Act  DMA , according to the report. The EC said in March that it was using its powers under the DMA to聽investigate Apple,聽Alphabet and Meta.The report added that the regulators have only made preliminary findings, that they could reassess any final decision if Apple changes its practices, and that the timing of any decision could change.Apple provided the FT with a statement saying:  Were confident our plan complies with the DMA, and well continue to constructively engage with the stanley nz  European Commission as they conduct their i stanley thermoskanne nvestigations.  Apples new iOS 10 operating system makes it easier for hackers to steal users passwords, according to a report from Fortune.In fact, it makes it about 2,500 times easier due to a security hole, according to Elcomsoft, a Moscow-based security company.According to Elcomsoft, iOS 10 is very susceptible to a  brute force attack,  where hackers automatically try a continuous number of password combinations until they unlock the right one. This security hole could allow hackers to steal credit card data, infiltrate backups and access Apples Keychain password manager, where passwords and other authentication data is stored. When working on an iOS 10 update for Elcomsoft Phone Breaker, we discovered an alternati stanley butelka ve password verification mechanism added to iOS 10 backups. We looked into it and found out that the new mechanism skips certain security checks, allowing us to try passwords approximately 2,500 times faster compared to the old mechanism used in iOS 9 and older,  according to an Elcomsoft blog post on the subject.Elcomsoft said that its password-cracking software program, Phone Breaker stanley kubek , was able to send 6聽million passwords per second at iOS 10s backup in an effort to try and unlock access, compared to 150,000 passwords per second through iOS 9.
