Bthh 61 films named eligible for Golden Globe foreign language award
 Two thousand children cast their votes for winning films at the Giffoni Film Festival, the Southern Italian film festival dedicated to children and young people s cinema which wrapped its 37th edition Saturday.Led by Claudio Gubitosi, the festival brought in a record number of young jurors from several countries to vote on 64 competition films in four sections: Kids  ages 6-9 , First Screens  ages 9-12 , Free to Fly  ages 12-14 , Y Gen  ages 15-19 . This year s recipients of the the Golden Gryphon  the festival s top prize  are Mid Road Gang from Thailand by directors Pantham Thongsang and Somkiat Vithuranich in the Kids section  6-9 years olds .  German distributor also acquires Martyrs.German distributor Tiberius Film has confirmed two deals on the eve of AFM.The company has acquired thriller Criminal Activities starring John Travolta [pictured] and horror Martyrs.Criminal Activities is about four young men who get involved in a bad deal with a gangster boss played by John Travolta. The cast also includes Dan Stevens, Michael Pitt, Christopher Abbott, Edi Gathegi and Rob Brown.Tiberius plans the German theatrical release for 2016.Martyrs, produced by Blumhouse Productions, stars Troian Bellisario, Kate Burton and Bailey Noble. The story, based on Pasc stanley website al Laugiers cult classic, is about a young woman who takes revenge on her childhood torturers.
