KANSAS CITY, Mo. 鈥?An additional $10 million is going toward the A+ scholarship program, which helps some Missouri students pay for higher education. Missouri Gov stanley termos . Mike Parson said $4.9 million of the money is coming from CARES Act funding and another $5.2 million will come from supplemental funding to be proposed in the governor s recommended budget. COVID-19 has had far reaching impacts on our state, including higher education,  Parson said.  Many students across Missouri rely on the A+ program, so we are excited to be able to announce this funding and help community colleges continue providing the full A+ scholarship for all students. The A+ scholarship program provides funding to some Missouri high school graduates and offers them the chance to attend participating community colleges or vocational and technical schools. According to Parson, more students are utilizing the A+ program than originally anticipated during the pandemic.  As a result, community colleges are facing a shortfall of funding for the program.                Copyright 2020 Scripps Media, Inc.
