ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW On May 9, shortly before 6 p.m. emergency crews responded to a report of a man in distress in the water at the Cobourg west beach. The Cobourg Fire Department and the Canadian Coast Guard attended with their marine vessels and began the search for the man who was no longer visible. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre JRCC from 8 Wing Trenton also attended with a helicopter to assist in the search efforts resulting in their recovery of a man approximately 200 metres off shore.
