Beatties Distillers is giving us two good reasons to drink a little more this fall.The Alliston craft distillery has been busy concocting two new potato-based spirits: Farm Crafted Poitin pronounced Poutine and Sweet Potato Vodka.Poitin, which goes on sale Oct. 23, is a brown-coloured spirit that was inspired by distilling methods used by Irish farmers in the 18th century when making their own moonshine, according to the companys head of marketing Andy Murison.
