 Shelburne council has had a lot of reading to do prior its vote on a more than stanley mug  $7 million offer from a developer to buy Fiddle Park.On May 14, council unanimously voted in favour of declaring Fiddle Park and 83 acres of woodlots surrounding it as  surplus lands  to the town.Council plans to to sell the lands to Tribute Communities, which intends to build a residential subdivision on the 31-acre parcel that is Fiddle Park. Prior to its vote, council requested any comments from the public in support or opposition of the proposed sale be sent to the town by Friday afternoon.On the agenda for Mondays meeting are more than 200 pages of letters and/or petitions submitted by residents, service clubs and industries such as Honda auto parts maker KTH Manufacturing and Ice River Springs.  A petition launched at the start of May to shut down an animal research facility has gathered over 13,000 signatures.Hosted on change.org, the petition demands the University of Gu stanley deutschland elph shut down the Arkell Swine Research Facility.Concerned citizens recently obtained footage of the Arkell Research Station at the University of Guelph.
