Health professionals who work in community settings say they have been forgotten in Ontarios vaccine strategy when it comes to both giving and getting inoculations against COVID-19.The government should get vaccines into the hands of community providers including nurses, physicians and pharmacists immediately, says Doris Grinspun, executive director of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.Ontario could rapidly accelerate its vaccine rollout if it took advantage of an already existing infrastructure of community health-care providers who annually administer the flu shot, she said, explaining there is no need to reinvent the wheel.
