 The Mad for Maddie fundraiser held July 8 raised five times more money than expected and attracted more than 1,00 stanley cup 0 people.This very special Love My Hood neighbourhood event on Trailwood Drive, was held in honour of four-year-old Madelyn Smith who suffers from both Cystic Fibrosis, which she was born with, and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an illness she was diagnosed with in April.Co-organizers had hoped to raise $5,000 to help the family with finances during this very difficult time as Maddie faces numerous appointments and chemotherapy treatments which means medical expenses, hospital parking and daycare for their other two children. In the end, five times that much was raised.               ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW                                         This money will just take away some of the stresses that come with having to deal with this as a family,  said Maddiesstanley cup  mom Keri-Lyn.  Everyone who came out said they had the best time. The biggest compliment we kept hearing was how amazing it was to see a community come together for such a great cause.
