Instead of beating on the glass and screaming at them, parents maybe gotta take a step back,  said Perry Petterle, who is with the USA Hockey Officiating Program.  Petterle says the number of teen and pre-teen referees is on the decline.Prior to the pandemic, he said the program had roughly 4,000 registered officials.
