It will be a mixed-use facility featuring space for affordable housing 鈥?similar to the redesigns of the East Branch, Mitchell Street, Villard, and Good Hope locations. It s been helping us build brand new spaces that are more up-to-date, modern, high-tech, and bigger,  explained Joan Johnson, the director of Milwaukee Public Library.  It makes it more affordable for us because there are a lot of parts of that building that are shared with the developer. The new MLK branch will expand to 18,000 square feet.
