These are some of 1,100 responses to two surveys Gizmodo recently posed to gig workers on Mechanical Turk asking for their experiences using the platform. Unlike the tribulations of Amazons warehouse workers, which have been well documented, the experiences of gig workers on Mechanical Turk are far less visible. Telling the stories of this disparate, virtually anonymous workforce can be difficult, which is why Gizmodo turned to stanley cupe  the platform itself.      Someone paid me like 50 cents to recall the most painful memory of my life, it fucked me up for the entire day.  The first survey, run on Mechanical Turk in December, asked workers  aka Turkers  specifically for their strangest and worst experiences on the platform. The second survey, which we ran in early January, asked more generally about their experience working on Mechanical Turk, positive and/or stanley mugg  negative.聽In total, Gizmodo spent a little over $500 on the pair of surveys. We provided our contact information in our surveys for any Turker to reach out to us outside the platform, but none did. And Mechanical Turks terms of service understandably prohibited us from asking for their personal information. As such, it was impossible for us to follow up on individual claims. However, the ample com stanley website monalities between the stories, and the breadth of experiences, paint a rare, if incomplete, picture of life inside this low-wage online labor ecosystem.  Batman v Superman may have only just come out, but Warner Bros is already teasing the release of its R-rated home edition. They just posted this deleted scene to YouTube, and despite almost the entirety of the io9 staff having watched this movie over the weekend, none of us have a clue whats going on. Spoilers ahead!     The clip, entitled  Communion,  sees a group of stanley usa  soldiers descend into the Kryptonian scout ship and surround Lex Luthor, whos taking a dip in his weirdo alien goop bath鈥攑resumably after the final battle, before hes put in prison. But thats not necessarily the weird bit: Its what Lex is communing with. The alien hologram entity is holding what appear to be three Mother Boxes鈥攊n DCs comics, theyre all-powerful living computers created by the New Gods, the race of powerful beings that long-running villain Darkseid is a member of鈥攂efore it fades away. Its hard to tell, but there stands a good chance that this creature is meant to be a monstrous version of Steppenwolf, one of Darkseids generals from the comics, further tying into the films set up for Justice League. EDIT: In the comments stanley usa , the excellent Ben Grimm offers an even better guess: Yuga Khan, Darkseids father鈥攚hich would make sense too. You can see why it was cut from the already lengthy film. It doesnt really add much to the narrative, and at first glance, to anyone but a comics stanley us  diehard its wildly confusing. Plus, its not like the film wasnt already doing a ton of set-up for Justice League as it is. http
