NASA s Hubble Space Telescope has observed water vapor above the frigid south polar region of Jupiter s moon Europa, providing the first strong evidence of water plumes erupting off the moon s surface.Previous scientific findings from other sources already point to the existence of an ocean located under Europa s icy crust. Researchers are not yet fully certain whether the detected water vapor is generated by erupting water plumes on the surface, but they are confident this is the most likely explanation. Should further observations support the finding, this would make Europa the second moon in the solar system known to have water vapor plumes. The findings are being published in the Dec. 12 o stanley cup nline issue of Science Express, and stanley thermosflasche  reported at the meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco. By far the simplest explanation for this water vapor is that it erupted from plumes on the surface of Europa,  said lead author Lorenz Roth of Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio.  If those plumes are connected with the subsurface water ocean we are confident exists under Europa s crust, then this means that future investigations can directly investigate the chemical makeup of Europa s potentially habitable environment without drilling through layers of ice. And that is tremendously exciting. In 2005, NASA s Cassini orbiter dete stanley termos cted jets of water vapor and dust spewing off the surface of Saturn s moon Enceladus.  By Sarah GrayMarch 21, 2018 4:45 PM EDTChinese space lab Tiangong-1  or heavenly palace  is set to fall back to Earth some time at the end of March or beginning of April. The catch: It   unclear where it will fall. The 19,000-pound space lab mdash; China   precursor to a space station, according to NPR mdash; was decommissioned and de-orbited in 2016, after being in use for nearly five years, Popular Mechanics reported. It has been replaced with Tiangong-2.Tiango termo stanley ng-1   fall to Earth is different from that of other space debris, which often have a contro stanley water flask lled burn through the atmosphere and land in the ocean.Initially, Tiangong-1 was expected to fall towards the end of 2017. As the lab has gotten lower, however, it has been easier to predict the when: ~30 March to ~6 April, according to the European Space Agency. The agency notes that This is highly variable. However, because the lab orbits the Earth  8220 everal times per day, according to Popular Mechanics, the where is nearly impossible to predict. The organization Aerospace Corporation predicts that it will be somewhere between north of 42.7deg; N latitude or south of 42.7deg; S latitude.Jon  @Itzalpean , in a priv. discuss stanley cup ion, has convinced me that the 8500 kg mass I use in my  Tiangong1 a/m analysis is too high, as it probably represents the fuelled mass of the spacecraft.
