RACINE 鈥?The Racine Police Department confirmed a teen was shot near Horlick Field following a high school football game Friday night against Oak Creek. Officials said officers were at the high school keeping an eye on people as they exited the football game when shots were fired. A 16-year-old girl was found near High St. and B

The girl was taken to Ascension Medical Center where she received treatment for the non-life-threatening injury.The teen told police she had been walking east on High St. from Carlisle Ave. when she heard gunshots and felt pain in her leg. She then walked to High St. and Blake Ave. and laid down on the sidewalk, where police later found her. Police did not release the girl s identity or any information regarding the suspects. My daughter did hear those gunshots and she was scared, said parent, Lacey Jones. Jones shared that her daughter was excited to attend the game alongside friends. They went into the girl s bathroom before they were going to leave and I guess they heard a few shots, people started running and they were screaming as shots were fired. MILWAUKEE 鈥?To stem rising reckless driving in the city, the Milwaukee Police Department is launching a new task force, the Traffic Safety Unit, to crack down on driving-related offenses and ultimately save lives.The statistics are startling. The police department tracked a 51 percent spike in fatal crashes from 2019 51 deaths to 2020 77 deaths .
