The SAS Group has purchased Maersk Air s 49% stake in flag-carrier Estonian Air, and may later acquire the 17% share in the airline held by Estonian investment bank Cresco. The purchase, which totalled SKr180 million $23 million , strengthens SAS Scandinavian Airlines position in the Baltic region. Estonian Air was formed in 1991 and privatised in 1996.
