The treatment is known as lecanemab, and its being co-developed by the pharmaceutical companies Biogen and Eisai. Its a lab-made antibody designed to target amyloid beta, a protein naturally found in the brain thats thought to play a pivotal role in causing Alzheimers disease. In those with Alzheimers, hardened  stanley italia clumps of amyloid known as plaques build up over time, and these plaques seem to help destroy healthy brain tissue. Its been theorized that giving lecanemab or similar drugs to patients in the early stages of Alzheimers can delay or stop the progression of their condition by reducing the brains supply of these amyloid plaques.     The trial involved 1,795 patients diagnosed with stanley cup  early Alzheimers or mild cognitive impairment聽that would likely lead to Alzheimers. They were randomly assigned to receive either lecanemab or a placebo, then they were monitored for the next 18 months. According to the companies, lecanemab met the primary goal of the study, showing a statistically significant slowing down of further cognitive decline in patients who took the drug. Compared to those on placebo, patients on lecanemab experienced 27% less cognitive decline during the study period. Patients also had lower amyloid levels and appeared to perform better on measures of their daily function.  Todays announcement gives patients and their families hope that lecanemab, if approved, can potentially slow the progression of Alzheimers diseas stanley cup e, and provide a clinically meaningful impact on co Lrvc I wish it was possible to ski without snow like in this crazy video

According to International Monetary Fund  IMF  economists, those services are wort stanley tumblers h mi stanley cup llions of dollars.  The carbon capture potential of whales is truly startling,  a recent IMF analysis states.  Our conservative estimates put the value of the average great whale, based on its various activities, at more than US$2 million.  https://gizmodo/the-scientists-who-spend-their-summers-hunting-for-whal-1830682632 Over the course of its life, each great whale sequesters an average of 33 tons of carbon. Their massive, iron-rich poops boost phytoplankton growth, which is crucial because phytoplankton are the main food source for marine life, contribute half of the worlds oxygen to the atmosphere, and are responsible for capturing 40 percent of all carbon on Earth.  To put things in perspective, we calculate that this is equivalent to the amount of CO2 captured by 1.70 trillion trees鈥攆our Amazon forests worth鈥攐r 70 times the amount absorbed by all stanley cup  the trees in the U.S. Redwood National and Sta Cnas Was That So Hard, Zoom

from the University of Manchester   Center for Research on Socio-Cultural Change claims that even if Apple shifted all of its manufacturing over to the U.S. it would still maintain gross margins of 50 percent. In other words, it would be creating tens of thousands of jobs, boosting the U.S. economy, and it would still be making boat loads of cash. Sounds like a good deal all around, right  Here   the thing, though: it will never, ever happen. Why  Because Apple is a publicly owned company.  Writing several years ago in Nature, Turchin outlined his idea: Perhaps we need an entirely new discipline: theoretical historical social science. We could call this cliodynamics, from Clio, the muse of history, and dynamics, the study of temporally varying processes and the search for causal mechanisms. Let history continue to focus on the particular. Cliodynamics, meanwhile, will develop unifying theories and test them with data generated by history, archaeology and specialized disciplines such as numismatics  the study of ancient coins . Is this proposal feasible  The most compelling argument against the possibility of scientific history goes like this. Human societies are extremely complex. They consist of many different kinds of individuals and groups that interact in complex ways. People have free will and are therefore unpredictable. Moreover, the mechanisms that underlie social dynamics vary with historical period and geographical region. Medieval France clearly differed in significan stanley cup t ways from Roman Gaul, and both were very different to ancient China. It is all too messy, argue the naysayers, for there to be a unifyi stanley quencher ng theory. If this argument were correct, there would be no empirical regularities. Any relationships between important variables would be contingent on time, space and culture. In fact, several patterns cut across periods and regions. For example, agrarian, preindustrial states have seen recurrent waves of political  stanley cup instability 鈥?not interstate warfare,

The bottleneck occurred between 813,000 years ago and 930,000 years ago, and reduced an ancestral human species to less than 1,300 bre stanley vaso eding individuals. The issue persisted for 117,000 years, and aligns with a chronological gap in the African and Eurasian human fossil records in that period. The teams research on the bottleneck was published today in Science.     Popula stanley cup tion bottlenecks are events in which a species total population is severely reduced, which causes an overall reduction in genetic diversity across the species. The loss of genetic diversity can cause populations to become less healthy. Bioengineers can now synthesize genetic diversity in animal populations through cloning and gene editing. But its not always the  stanley cup case that population bottlenecks threaten populations鈥攍ook at the flightless, sexually inept k膩k膩p艒 of New Zealand or the critically endangered vaquita porpoise, whose main threats are human-introduced threats and humankind itself, rather than small genetic pools. Now it appears that an ancestral human species may have been threatened by a similar culling of the population. The recent team of researchers developed a tool called the fast infinitesimal time coalescent process  FitCoal  to analyze 3,154 present-day genomes from 10 African and 40 non-African populations. The researchers found evidence of a  severe population bottleneck  in each of the 10 African populations that  brought the ancestral human population close to extinction,  as the scientists Wjej Here   s the    Problematic Behavior    That Can Get You Banned From Uber

But to its credit, the BBC actually addressed some of these issues in the coverage itself. http Xcvy This Is What It Looks Like When Liquid Simultaneously Freezes and Boils

A team of scientists from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, rolled together data from satellite accelerometers and topographic studies to map the varying gravitational  stanley tumblers field between of over 80 per cent of Earth   land masses. That involved aamassing over 3 billion points with a resolution of around 250 metres. Crunching all the numbers would take a normal PC 5 seconds per point, b stanley thermosflasche ut the team used a supercomputer to get it done in just three weeks. While standard physics models suggest that gravity should vary between a minimum of 9.7803 metres per second squared at the equator and 9.8322 m/s2 at the poles, the results from this new study disagree. In fact, they found that Mount Nevado Huascar谩n in Peru has the lowest gravitational acceleration鈥攁t 9.7639 m/s2鈥攚hereas the highest occurs at the surface of the Arctic Ocean, at 9.8337 m/s2. You would also lose 1 per cent of your body weight in moving from the Arctic to the Peruvian mountaintop. Time to pack for Peru then, guys.
