MILWAUKEE 鈥?Less than six months before the start of the Republican National Convention, the Milwaukee Police Department is asking for an upgrade: a new mobile command post. For the RNC, this is a necessity to be able to have a unit that is actually on scene to orchestrate all of the moving pieces of an operation as it is occurring,  said Heather Hough, Chief of Staff, Milwaukee Police Department.Housed in an RV, it s a central meeting place for police at a major scene, where they can review video, access records, and give orders in real time.MPD currently uses a mobile command post that they say is technologically old and outdated and would cost more to repair than to replace.  LA CROSSE, Wis. 鈥?In the All-American City of La Crosse, Wisconsin, a little-known secret is finally being revealed. I think that knowledge is growing over time,  UW-La Crosse Assistant Professor and Archivist Laura Godden says.  I d say in the 1990s that that knowledge was very limited. He was on the La Crosse High School track team. Yet like the snow-covered track at La Crosse Central High School, the story of George Poage was mostly silent. I feel like if his skin would have been a different color that La Crosse would have had something named after him long b stanley cup efore it did,  Godden says.In 1904, Poage became the first Black American to win an Olympic medal with two bronze finishes. George Poage was wronged at many turns,  Godden says.  It s unfortunate that he s no longer alive and can t see how he s finally being recognized and appreciated for the person that he was. The university didn t exist back then. But in this city, Poage ran track stanley uk  and was the salutatorian of his class when he became one of the first Black people to graduate from La Crosse High School. I imagine that life couldn t have been particularly easy for him,  Godden says.  Being a person of color and taking on all thes stanley cup e first roles. Later at UW-Madison, he became the first Black athlete to win a Big Ten conference track championship. As many people that thought he was a talented person that must be encouraged, there were probably people that thought that he shouldn t be doing these things because of the colo Kmwk 9 shot after gunman opens fire on group of people in Cleveland

Cash is not the king it used to be as more Wisconsin venues and events opt for cashless transactions. From Fiserv Forum to Summerfest and Lambeau Field, popular destinations are turni stanley termosar ng to contactless purchases. All three of the previous sites offer cash-to-card kiosks free of charge for people who do not have the plastic to pay. Its a different way of doing business,  said Lora Reinholz, an instructor of practice and finance at Marquette  stanley tazas University.                        TMJ4        Reinholz said transactions happen more quickly when people use plastic over paper, and in a pandemic, this approach offers another sense of cleanliness and security. However, there are potential downsides if people do not have access to a card or are uncomfortable with the process. It does require I think a little bit more education from the different venues, such as Fiserv Forum, to let people know actually how to go about doing this, let them know that there are no costs, and also to let them know what they can do if they do have any balances remaining on the cards,  Reinholz said.Bucks officials said cards from their kiosks can also be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted, as well as online purchases. The Wisconsin State Fair is going cashless in some ways.                        TMJ4         For the 2021 Wisconsin State Fair, we will be going cashless for our admission entr starbucks stanley cup ances and parking entrances only,  the fair s chief marketing officer, Jen Puente, stressed.Tickets can be purchased with ca
