 Guelph Humane Society is pleading with the community not to abandon animals outside the shelter, after a cat that was left overnight died earlier this month. Theres never an excuse for abandoning an animal without attempting to get help,  said GHS executive director Adrienne McBride.The organization took to social media to share its grief after staff arrived at the shelter on Sept. 3 and discovered a nearly lifeless cat in a carrier outside the community room entrance.               ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW                                         The cat suffered alone and in pain for nearly 12 hours before being discovered,  said a Guelph Humane Society tweet.  Despite our best efforts this morning, the cat could not be saved.  100 Women Who Care Halton Hills continues to help fund local charities during these tough times when our community most needs their support. After another successful virtual meeting in February to select a local organization to receive funding from their members, the chosen charity was Links2Care. Along with their volunteers, they support and counsel people who walk through their doors when they dont know where else to turn. They often cant afford to buy food, school supplies or clothing for their kids.
