Trigun didnt achieve a lot of popularity in Japan when it was serialized in Tokuma Shotens Monthly Shonen Captain magazine, but was just popular enough to be picked up in 1997 by Shonengahoshas Young King Ours. The anime adaptation, however, brought Trigun to Western audiences in a huge way, and resonated much more with an international audience.     The manga ran for 12 years, from 1995 to 2007, and inspired multiple media spinoffs.
