 WAUKESHA, Wis. 鈥?The Humane Animal Welfare Society  HAWS  in Waukesha welcomed 20 new dogs yesterday with one pup in particular marking a major milestone.The arrival of Frisco, a one-and-a-half-year-old mixed breed, on Monday marks the 12,000th pet transported by the global non-profit, Greater Good Charities, which helps find homes for dogs.HAWS spokespe stanley canada rson Jennifer Smieja said they are stanley mug  thrilled to partne stanley cup r with the charity time and again. Every single time the plane lands, every single time they open those doors, we hear the barks,  she said.  We see the animals look through their crates at us, its just an overwhelming sense of we got this. Frisco is one of 60 dogs that have been flown into Wisconsin from Louisiana and Alabama, to be divided between four shelters including HAWS in the southeastern part of the state.Since Greater Good Charites started their animal transport program in April of 2021 theyve been helping pets out of shelters that are overcrowded or sometimes dealing with natural disasters.Once the dogs make it to their shelter Smieja said its a lot of work getting them settled which is only possible with the help of dedicated volunteers like Chuck Tennies.
