And, according to media reports, health officials in Canada, United States, across the pond in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe and China have experienced higher numbers of confirmed cases of the flu this season.Closer to home, two students in the Guelph area have succumbed to the ailment. One of those, a Grade 7 student at Guelphs Westminster Woods Public School, died Jan. 31 because of the influenza B strain, which is widely circulating throughout southern Ontario.
