Pilot errors, industry carelessness and poor government oversight have combined to drive the number of air ambulance crashes to record levels, USA Today reported.Sixty people have died in 84 crashes since 2000 mdash; more than double the number of crashes during the previous five years, the newspaper said in Monday editions. Its study found that more than 10 percent of the U.S. air ambulance helicopter fleet crashed during that time, a proportion that would have translated to 90 jetliner crashes if applied to commercial airlines.About two-thirds of the fatal crashes occurred in poor visibility. After reviewing hundreds of pages of  stanley italia documents and interviewing do stanley becher zens of pilots, aviation experts, federal officials and executives with the companies that operate the flights, USA Today concluded that air ambulance companies and the Federal Aviation Administration have failed to imposed safety requirements that might have saved lives. It also cited a 2002 study in The Journal of Trauma that found helicopters were used  excessively  for patients who weren t severely injured.        But the newspaper also noted that industry leaders  stanley thermos cite other studies to show that thousands of lives are saved each year by speedy flights to hospitals. It pointed out, as well, that pilots operate in challenging situations, such as having to land on hospital roofs and being summoned on live-and-death missions to rural accident scenes despite darkness or bad weather.  According to a report from Recode, Mark Zuckerberg met with Uber CEO Travis Kalanick to discuss putting an Uber integration within Facebook   Messenger app. Someday soon  stanley termosar we could order a car in between sending our Facebook friends weird cat stickers.     Facebook has recently been making a p stanley drinking cup ush towards mobile payments and expanding to e-commerce, and a deal like this would fit in with the company   overall strategy to meld communication and, you know, encouraging you to buy shit. Plus, turning Messenger into a way to buy fancy taxis would help justify the app   existence. Okay, I concede that Messenger is more convenient to use than going into the main Facebook app and pressing the Inbox button. But that convenience is neutralized by frustration of having two separate apps to get the normal Facebook experience. It wouldn ;t be quite as obnoxious to have Messenger sitting on my screen taking up memory that could be used to download Jason Derulo songs if the Messenger app could actually offer something unique, such as a way to buy fancy taxis  8230; or a way to order Seamless, or impulse-buy artisan pickles endorsed by Blake Lively. The e-commerce possibilites are endless! It   not clear what kind of advantage people would get from ordering an Uber within Messenger instead of opening the Uber app. I would probably delete the Uber app if all of a su stanley vaso dden I could order Uber via Facebook. UNLESS the Uber app allowed me to chat with my Facebook friends.
