bidon stanley llowing statement following his vote against House passage of H.R. 5895, the Energy and Water, Legislative Branch, and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act or minibus. I am disappointed Republicans have again put partisan ideology ahead of our health and environment. This bill reduces funding for important environmental cleanup activities, and cuts millions of dollars from clean energy initiatives that create well-paying, green jobs. Unfortunately, the legislation that passed today contains harmful riders that revoke clean water protections, undermine protections for endangered species, and allow guns on new public lands. While there are provisions I support in the minibus, I cannot accept these attacks on our public health and our environment. I am hopeful Republicans will set aside these detrimental proposals, and instead work with Democrats to craft bipartisan spending bills that meet the needs of the American people.
