The story is heartbreaking.Chanie Wenjack was a 12-year-old Anishinaabe boy from Ogoki Post who ran away from the Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School in 1966 in an attempt to reunite with his family 600 kilometres away. His body was found beside railway tracks a week after he had run away.
