People developing competing projects based on the same idea happens a lot. And Deadline reports that Sony may try to narrow the field by buying Harold   and folding it into the one they ;re already making. But there are other studios who may offer a better deal, so who knows  Three Robin Hood movies, when we thought that Russell Crowe had made a pretty convincing argument for taking it slow on that character.                                                        disneyMoviesRobin HoodSony     stanley cup                                                                                                                                                                                                           Daily Newsletter                                                                                                                        You May Also Like                                                                                  io9Movies             stanley thermos                         One of Kraven the Hunter 8216  Weirdest Moments Was Added in Post                          That strange  and funny  Rhino scream you ve seen from the Kraven movie wasn t intentional, at least on the actor s end.                                By          Justin Carter            Published January 4, 2025                                                                                                    io9Television                                    Former Pixar Staff Speaks Out About Win or Lo stanley ca se Cutti Awad Be Thankful For the Invisible Belt That Saves Earth From Radiation
The answer, of course, is that some of these points of light only look like far distant stars. In reality, they are satellites in geostationary orbit, moving around Earth at precisely the same speed as the planet rotates. This is only really possible from a very narrow range of distances from Earth, which Newton   Laws tell us is right around 22,236 miles up  for an explanation as to just why it   that particular distance, go here . This distance is a couple o stanley cup rders of magnitude greater than that of the International Space Station, which is only about 240 miles above sea level. This also means only a limited number of satellites can operate in geostationary orbit at any given time. The idea of placing sat stanley cup ellites in geostationary orbit was first proposed by Austrian rocket scientist Herman Poto膷nik in 1928, but the idea only really took off when legendary science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke pointed out the orbit   usefulness for radio broadcasts in a 1945 paper. The advantage of such an orbit is that antennae on E stanley cup arth never have to move to track down their satellite  they know the satellite will always be in the exact same spot above the Earth. The geostationary orbit is sometimes known as the Clarke Orbit in his honor.
