Navy destroyer sunk during World War II and lying nearly 6,500 meters below sea level off the Philippines has been reached in the world s deepest known shipwreck dive, an American exploration team said.A crewed submersible filmed, photographed and surveyed the wreckage of the USS Johnston of stanley cup f Samar Island during two eight-hour dives completed late last month, Texas-based undersea technology company Caladan Oceanic said.Caladan founder Victor Vescovo, who piloted the submersible, tweeted dramatic video of the shipwreck on Sunday.    It s been so wonderful to share stanley cup  the story of the USS Johnston with so many people.  RANDOLPH, Mass. -- A former probation officer who was set to be arraigned on charges he raped a woman he was assigned to supervise has been killed in a car crash.Authorities said 50-year-old William Averill, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, faced charges including rape and indecent assault and battery, which were announced on Tuesday, CBS Boston reports. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.State police say Averill was killed shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 28 in Randolph. Police say his car left the roadway, traveled onto the sidewalk and hit a bridge abutment.
