After the presentation of prizes to the winners of this literary competition, which was also attended by the delegate of the Board in Guadalajara, Alberto Rojo; the provincial director of Education, Roc铆o L贸pez, and representatives of the participating town councils, the deputy minister of Education has highlighted the fundamental value that reading has in the educational and cultural project of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha. In this sense, she has referred to reading as 鈥渁xis ofe social progress and an unavoidable condition for economic progress鈥?and has appealed to the collective responsibility that society as a whole has with respect to reading as an activity and as a habit. 鈥淩eading must be brought to families and municipalities,鈥?she said, while highlighting the important role that public libraries play in this work. 鈥淔rom the family, from the school, from the public library, from the media and from social networks, we have the ethical obligation to promote reading. From the public powers, this ethical duty becomes a political imperative,鈥?he noted.
