I also appreciate the need for exercise in these trying times that cycling provides. However, as a 76-year-old pedestrian, I too have a need and right to exercise safely and this is often put at risk by cyclists on those same bike/pedestrian pathways. And why Because 9 of 10 of these cyclists do not have a bell or horn as is required by bylaw 75 5 . Of the few that do comply with the law, when they do ring or honk to warn us that they are approaching from behind, we stop and stay still so that they can pass.
