With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 completing a trilogy of films, obviously there were going to be lots of payoffs. Writer-director James Gunn delivers with sometimes satisfying, sometimes sad, but equally excellent endings for basically all of your favorite characters. But did you realize that you, the audience member, get a moment of closure too  Its true, though it happens so subtly its possible you missed it.      Throughout the e stanley termos ntire movie  and, in fact, the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe , anytime Groot talks, all the audience hears is his trademark  I am Groot.  Thats not the case, however, for most of the characters in the film. Theyre so familiar with Groot by this point that when he says  I am Groot, stanley thermoskannen   they hear what he really means. In Vol. 3, one person that doesnt happen for is Gamora, because shes the other Gamora who hasnt spent much time with Groot. Then that changes. At the end of the movie, Gamora finally hears what Groot actually means, and its a nice moment. She is finally friendly and comfortable enough with him that she understands Groots language. Plus, thats in there to clue us into what happens next. Soon after, the Guardians are all talking and we hear Groo stanley flasche t say鈥攏ot  I am Groot,  but  I love you guys.  And thats the moment. Groot hasnt changed how he talks. We, the audience, have just finally become part of the family enough that we can finally understand Groot, and what a beautiful way to add even more emotional resonance to the film. Even the United Nationrsquo  World Meteorological Organization  WMO , which registers global temperature extremes, admitted that it was having trouble keeping up. Seattle set an all-time record of 104deg;F  40deg;C  on June 27, then immediately broke it the next day, with a high of 107deg;F  41.7deg;C . Portland hit 112deg;F  44.4deg;C . Last Wednesday, the Canadian mountain town of Lytton broke the countryrsquo  all-time record, reaching 121.3deg;F  49.6 deg;C , a temperature I last experienced when reporting in Jacobabad, Pakistan, long considered to be one of the hottest cities on earth.Indeed, the latest report from the European Unionrsquo  Copernicus Climate Change service, which tracks global temperatures using billions of measurements taken from aro stanley cups und the world, confirms what we already know: June 2021 was the warmest June recorded in North America. The fact that the hottest northern hemisphere Junes have all happened in the past six years gives us a pretty good indication of where things are going next.As the WMO seeks to verify reports of the highest-ever temperature north of the Arctic Circle since re
