TORONTO 鈥?Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard made a brief video appearance Friday in a Toronto court, where he faces sexual assault charges.Nygard appeared remotely from custody in a virtual hearing. His next hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 12.Nygard lawyer, Jay Prober, says his client boarded a flight from Winnipeg to Toronto on Thursday afternoon. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW On Oct. 1, Toronto police announced they were charging Nygard with six counts of sexual assault and three counts of forcible confinement dating back to the late 1980s and mid-2000s.That same day, he agreed to be extradited to the United States to face one charge of sex trafficking. Teachers at a Scarborough elementary school refused to work Monday over fears for their safety after the school remained open despite a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak.An outbreak was declared at Glamorgan Junior P.S. on Friday by Toronto Public Health after nine staff and two students tested positive for the virus.According to public health, 58 students at the school, near Kennedy Road and Highway 401, have been asked to self-isolate as a precaution.
