 Ontario   Ministry of Health expects demand for surgeries in the province to rise in the coming months as more people seek diagnostics and screening, but Minister Christine Elliott says there   a plan in place to manage it.Elliott announced details on July 28 of the province   plan to spend $300 million earmarked for surgeries in its 2021 budget, plus an additional $24 million, on boosting health-care capacity across the province. The $324-million surgery recovery plan will allow hospitals and community health-care providers to operate at 110 to 115 per cent capacity beginning later this fall in order to clear the existing surgical backlog even as new referrals flood in.
