Researchers in Japan have found that dogs might be li stanley us ke humans more than people realize.A study published Monday in the journal Current Biology suggests that the eyes of man s best friend might fill up with happy tears when they reunite with their owner after being away from them.In a press release, the scientists said they conducted the Schirmer tear test on 22 dogs for their experiment, allowing them to compare a dog s tear volume before and after being away from its ow stanley tumbler ner or someone they knew for five to seven hours. They placed a piece of paper under the dog s eyes to gather the tears, then they measured them, the study said.Researchers found that when reunited with their owner, the dogs  tear volume increased significantly than when they were reunited with a familiar non-owner.According to the study, researchers also found that if a solution of oxytocin - a hormone associated with love - is added to the animal s eyes, the tear volume increases. We found that dogs shed tears associated with positive emotions,  the study s co-author Takefumi Kik stanley cups uk usui said in a statement.According to Kikusui, this type of study is a possible  world first. .  A new species of a venomous spider has been recognized in Florida.According to the Zoo Miami Conservation and Research Facebook page, the Pine Rockland Trapdoor Spider was first spotted in 2012 when zoo staff found it  in the critically endangered pine Rocklands  surrounding Miami s zoo.But it wasn t until recently th cups stanley at it was identified as a new species. Trapdoor Spiders are some of the longest-lived spiders and are documented to be able to live for decades,  the zoo said.  Given the rarity of the habitat that this species was found in and that it has not been known to science until now, it is assumed that it is likely already imperiled. Dr. Rebecca Godwin of Piedmont College confirmed that it was a new species to science and recently published her work.Dr. Godwin said the spider builds silk-lined burrows that are  stanley cup  highly cryptic,  making it difficult to find, and only males have been encountered.According to Zoo Conservation Chief Frank Ridgley stanley cup , the spiders are named after how they build a so-called  trap door  over the top of vegetation and soil to ambush their prey.
