However, they were able to host it virtually through a video which can be found here. We wanted to find a fun way to show off this beautiful new play space, said Milwaukee Recreation Senior Director Lynn Greb in a release Monday. We hoped that by creating this video in place of an in-person ceremony the community will be able to see just how much has changed at Southgate. It has transformed into an oasis for all to enjoy, even while social distancing. Southgate Playfield is only one of many playfields to be revamped as a part of a 10-year-plan. According to Milwaukee Recreation, the Milwaukee Outdoor Recreation Facilities Master Plan was created in 2014.
