ORIGINAL STORY, DEC. 22, 4:13 p.m. | A fatal motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 50 in Lee s Summit near 3rd Street closed the eastbound lanes Friday afternoon. The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. just east of Southwest 3rd Street.The lanes were back open about 6:30 p.m.When emergency crews arrived on scene, they found two cars and a motorcycle had been involved in the crash. Initial investigation efforts found the motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it hit the rear end of a vehicle.
