 A Milwaukee native is changing the face of leadership in the world of ballet companies. Adam McKinney recently became the artistic director of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. From the performance stage to teaching the art of dance, McKinney is blazing his own path by leading the next generation of dancers. He is the seventh director in the company s 54-year history. McKinney is the first person of color to be tapped for the role. Growing up just off Downer Street to parents of African-American, native, and Jewish heritage, McKinney comes to dance with a spirit of inclusion. He got his start in musical theater at Whitefish Bay High School where his pictures hang in the school s fine arts Hall of Fame.  WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. 鈥?Far away from hospital walls where patients are fighting COVID-19, a bell tolls for them in the small Woodford County community of Troy on Peggy Carter Seal s porch. I am a good old Woodford Countian. Always lived on the southern end. You would be surprised at the number of people that would call asking me to say a prayer while I ring the bell. Somehow it took on a significance that a prayer at home just couldn t,  Carter Seal said.When the weather got bad, she brought the bell ringing to her porch, and that s where the tradition continues.Along with peace and prayer, the bell ringing has  stanley cup helped Peggy, too. She is a very social person, and through her small act, she has felt less isolated.
