WXFR聽reports:        Milepost 168 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, smoke from the Tuggles Gap fire is seen in the di stanley kaffeebecher stance. Photo courtesy NPS.Roanokes corridor of the聽Blue Ridge Parkway聽is set to go under renovation after receiving approxim stanley vaso ately $75 million. The Blue Ridge Parkway says the money came from the 鈥疓reat American stanley taza  Outdoors Act聽 GAOA  Legacy Restoration Funding. It will be used for major road and safety improvements. The three-year repaving and rehabilitation program will improve the condition of 24 miles of the BRP from milepost 97 at Blackhorse Gap to milepost 121 near U.S. 220 in Roanoke. Park officials said the project includes slope stabilization, road resurfacing, and repair or replacement of draining structures.Crews will also work on walkers, shoulders, guardrails, stone walls, overlooks, pavements markings, and signage. The stretch of the Parkway set to undergo these improvements is entirely within the Sixth Congressional District represented by Ben Cline. So a smoother and safer road, improved overlooks, repair and construction jobs for Clines constituents, a more enjoyable experience for visitors from outside the region and local people alike, a boost to nearby businesses. Whats not to like Interestingly there has been no mention of this on Clines congressional website or on his Facebook or X accounts.Perhaps thats because he聽voted NO聽in 2020 on the Great American Outdoors Act.Gene Zitver is the editor of ClineWatch.    Share this page                  Share       Hxcq VCU Basketball: Rams add four signees on National Signing Day

Brandon Waddell was just terrific. It seemed like after the first four innings he really settled in, did a terrific job of mixing all of hi stanley cup s pitches, kind of keeping their hitters off balance and certainly we had another really good offensive night. A number of hit-and-runs that were executed in some such situations and some guys came up big in some RBI opportunities. So just really couldnt be more proud of our club facing elimination, facing the end of the season. You have somebody like Waddell step up and pitch like that, and our offensive ballclub, you know, just would not be denied. Now it all comes down to tomorrow night. I know our guys will come out and play loose and aggressive like they have this entire postseason, and Im looking forward to seeing them come out and compete tomorrow night.Q. I remember you mentioned coming back to Game 2 of the Super Regional and how you were as calm as youve ever been going into that game against elimination. Do you have a similar feeling today, and if so, why COACH OCONNOR: I did, because I know the bounce back that this team has shown all year long. You know when you go through a season with the team, you start to
