Photo courtesy Bridgewater College.Just days after the tragedy that rocked the Shenandoah Valley, life is not the same in the Town of Bridgewater.On Tuesday, two beloved officers on the campus of Bridgewater College were tragically shot and killed while protecting those they pledged to serve. Campus police officer John Painter and campus safety officer J.J. Jefferson were killed in the line of d stanley becher uty after confronting a crazed gunman on  stanley cup campus.Alexander Wyatt Campbell, 27, allegedly shot the officers and ran before being captured by a combination of local authorities. The shooting remains under investigation, and Campbell, a former student at Bridgewater, has been arrested and charged on multiple accounts.As this small liberal arts college aims to impossibly get back to some form of normalcy, hearts are heavy as they remember and pay their respects to two guys who together were known as the  dynamic duo. Heres what we know about each:John PainterPainter, 55, was the former police chief of nearby Grottoes, serving there for 18 years. Hes remembered as a lover of music, a family man and a dedicated outdoorsman.  U.S. Senate candidate vaso stanley  Tim Kaine spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Richmond on Monday.During the discussion at the Virginia Historical Society, Kaine shared his strategies to strengthen the economy, create jobs, and responsibly reduce the deficit. Kaine also outlined his vision to develop the worlds most talented workforce and bring Virginia lessons of fiscal responsibility and political balance to Washington.Throughout the conversation, Kaine emphasized his commitment to public service, describing his time as a missionary in Honduras and his years of stanley cup  serving as a city councilman, mayor, lieutenant governor, and governor in Virginia. Kaine also spoke about his experience traveling across the state to discuss Virginias economic future at more than 65 roundtables. Weve got a lot of big issues and big stanley mug  needs as a country, but weve also got big resources of compassion and community spirit to meet these challenges,  said Kaine.  But along the way weve let our politics get very small. Anyone running in 2012 needs to work to elevate this process because our nation deserves a politics that isnt just small minded. Our people deserve a political system that is magnanimous, large in spirit, and dedicated to the service of our fellow Americans. Kaine also contrasted his balanced approach to the countrys fiscal challenges with that of his opponent, George Allen. As governor, Kaine worked alongside Republicans to strengthen Virginias economy while cutting more than $5 billion in state spending. F
