A special enforcement area with parking fines of up to $250 鈥?a jump of more than $200 鈥?in Greensville and Dundas is hoped to direct visitors to popular natural areas to a centralized parking area with shuttle service.Ward 13 Coun. Arlene VanderBeeks motion to create the enforcement area on 58 streets around Websters Falls, Tews Falls and Dundas Peak, and hike the fines within that area, passed with no opposition at an April 10 city council meeting. This is not about penalizing visitors. Its about encouraging compliance, VanderBeek said in an interview before the meeting. I dont want anyone getting a ticket.

stanley mugs She wants the message to get out to people so they are encouraged to park at Christie Lake, where they can enjoy the resources there and access a Hamilton Conservation Authority shuttle bus that will provide access to the falls and peak. VanderBeek noted existing parking and stopping regulations will be enforced. She said lower fines werent having the desired effect of directing visitors to park at Christie Lake.
