New York: In a tight race, an Indian-American engineer won an open seat in a city council election in Sunnyvale, California, by just a single vote.   Murali Srinivasan became the first Indian-origin council member elected in Sunnyvale and the first candidate chosen to represent District 3, The Mercury News reported. District 3 was formed in 2020 after the city voted to switch to a district-based electoral system, and drew six districts based on US Census data.     While Srinivasan secured 2,813 votes, his opponent, Justin Wang, concluded the race with 2,812 votes. It   definitely a great victory for democracy and District 3 voters a credit should go to them, he added, saying that waiting for election results was interesting and stressful he told the paper that he feels honored to represent the Indian-American community within Sunnyvale   local government.                            :root{--slide-width:336px;--slide-height:280px;--progress-height:4px;--dot-size:10px;--inactive-dot: ccc;--active-dot: 074588;--border-color: ddd} .st-code{position:relative;width:var --slide-width ;margin:0 stanley cup  auto;overflow:visible} .st-wrapper{position:relative;width:var --slide hydro flask sale -width ;height:var --slide-height ;border: stanley thermoskanne 1px solid  Wykw 3 Palestinians shot dead by Israeli soldiers in West Bank raid

The department instead spent the money on in-home services for elderly and disabled residents. Two LePage ap polene espana pointees responded swiftly by impugning the auditors motives 鈥?not by taking her finding seriously and taking responsibility for a serious failure in financial management.First, the administration questioned the timing of the audit findings release; questioned how the auditors letter to Gov. Paul LePage, the Legislature and Attorney General Janet Mills so quickly found its way to the news media; and alleged the audit was politically motivated. But the administration seems to overlook the fact that state government belongs to Maine people. The auditors finding is a public document that addresses serious shortcomings in how DHHS handles the publics money. If the administration cared enough to follow the law 鈥?and less about impugning the motives of others and alleging a political conspiracy 鈥?its leaders would have seen that state law required the auditor to publicly release such a substantial and unusual discovery of the administrations flouting of federal law.Health and Human Serv owala ices Commissioner Mary Mayhew defended h
